Training Materials

Training is a key ingredient for any online strategy. APC members develop a wide range of unique and practical curriculum and materials relevant to the needs of NGOs and activists and the work you do.

What you'll find here

This section contains resources for trainers, women -focussed resources, links to interactive spaces, a glossary of terms and materials for learners and trainers on topics ranging from Audio Online to Strategic Use of the Internet. See the panel on the left-hand side of this page for a full list of topics.

All the training materials on this section of the APC site are generated from the central ItrainOnline database.

ItrainOnline

In order to extend the range of training materials available to APC members and the broader NGO community, APC has joined forces with five organizations working in related areas to develop ItrainOnline, a one-stop source of ICTs training materials for people who want to learn how to use the Internet effectively for social justice and sustainable development.

You can find the complete materials here on the APC site. For more information about ItrainOnline and its partner organizations visit www.itrainonline.or

Understanding ICT Policy

Information and communication technologies (ICT) policy decisions affect anyone who wants to take advantage of the opportunities that new technologies can offer. Will the national policy favour technology that is state-of-the art but not affordable in rural areas? Will your government provide service subsidies to poor or disabled people? Will your government encourage the development of software that illiterate people can use? All of these are pressing questions whose answers depend on the ICT policy choices made by governments and other official decision-makers.

APC has created resources to help civil society organizations understand policy and regulation related to ICT so that you can begin to engage and influence policy processes affecting ICT adoption and implementation at national, regional and global levels. Start to understand ICT policy.
